Music Usage & Credit

Free to use as background with visible credit. No reuploads. Ask permission for projects. If YouTube flags a cover, follow the steps below.

How to credit me

Place this on-screen or in your description:

Music by Pokestir: https://www.pokestir.com/links

You can also link my YouTube channel instead of the site:

https://www.youtube.com/@pokestir

Quick rules

  • Credit must be visible (on-screen) or in the video description.
  • No reuploads of my music.
  • Don't use the music in a broader project (games, apps, albums, releases) without my permission.
  • Covers/arrangements are licensed via mechanical licenses. YouTube may auto-flag due to melody matching.

Incorrect Content ID claims

I legally license my covers through my label. Claims you see like Materia Music Publishing or FUGA are automated Content ID matches and NOT manual claims.

Even if you didn't use my recording, YouTube can match shared game melodies. That's how the system works right now unfortunately. Please dispute it!

Another cover artist made a fantastic video explaining this in more detail — check it out here.

FAQ

Is a claim a strike?

No—Content ID claims affect monetization, not your channel status. They're automated.

Why did it match my video?

Covers share melodies with the original game music. The system often matches melodies even if you used a different recording.

Steps if you received a claim:

  • Check the claim text. Does it cite Materia Music Publishing, FUGA, or one of my cover tracks? That's my distributor handling licensed covers.
  • Dispute the claim in YouTube Studio. Use this statement:
"No audio from the claimed recording is present; the match is incorrect."
  • Wait 5–7 days. Most claims lift automatically. Monetization resumes and held revenue returns.
  • Optional: Use YouTube Studio's tools to remove matched audio if needed.
